Montaigne - A French Holiday
"There are only two places in the world where you can be happy:
at home and in Paris."
— E. Hemingway
With "Montaigne," the creators of the fashion brand Jeune Premier aim to bring back the old grandeur of Ostend—the vibrant Belle Époque city of the past, where creative minds from the worlds of music, art, and fashion would come together, and where beauty in all its forms was central.
Inspired by the opulent and tasteful buildings on Avenue Montaigne—home to many major luxury brands such as Dior, Chanel, Versace, Gucci, Prada, and Valentino, as well as iconic hotels like Plaza Athénée—Maison Montaigne, the first building of the "A French Holiday" project, will be a true grande dame. Constructed from stately natural stone, it will feature the characteristic French wrought-iron balconies and a symmetrical zinc Mansard roof, an architectural element that has become one of the timeless symbols of the French capital.
Ostend is on the rise! Events like "Theater Aan Zee" are now a highlight in many cultural calendars, and new high-end boutiques, cafés, and restaurants are flourishing, attracting a more refined audience to the "City by the Sea." Gone are the days of mass tourism dominated by beachgoers with picnic coolers—today, visitors seek added value and experiences in all forms: fine dining, exclusive shopping, and high-end accommodations.
